SMARTSEAT CHAIR PROTECTOR

SMARTSEAT CHAIR PROTECTOR

All the protection of vinyl with the comfort of fabric
The SmartSeat Chair Protector is a waterproof, stain resistant, and machine washable cover made from soft-to-the-touch, toxin-free fabric. The SmartSeat’s patent-pending design uses adjustable straps to securely fit chairs ranging from 18″ to 25″ wide.

I was asked to review this new seat protector and I am glad I did. I have 3 young boys and a lot stained chairs in my home. To properly test this seat cover out I of course used it on my 3 year olds chair. We use our outdoor seating most of the year and the chairs are very large and wide. At first I wasn’t sure this cover would fit well or cover the surface properly. But, as you can see in the photo it actually covered even the large seat very well. I was using an old towel previously to protect the fabric from my son’s messy eating habits. The towel worked ok but it was bulky, didn’t stay in place when my son wiggled around and to put it bluntly, it was ugly and didn’t match anything.

The SmartSeat Cahir Protector comes in 5 of your most common seat colors, tan, navy, black, brown and burgundy. I received mine in the tan and it is blends so well with my existing furniture! The cover claims to be waterproof and after a few spills I can vouch that it really is. The spills just bead up and easily wipe off. I let my son use this cover for several days before washing it to make sure it was good and dirty to determine how well the stain resistance worked. This product can be machine washed, but then you need to hang it to dry, which was fine because it is waterproof it dries very quickly, no heavy drenched fabric. After washing I was honestly, pleasantly surprised that it cleaned up so well.

The SmartSeat is so easy to attach AND remove as well. The chair protector uses a heavy duty Velcro system that makes it so simple to adjust the size for almost any seat, as well as easy removal if you have company coming and want to lose the cover and for washing of course.

Another perk, is this company thought ahead for families with more than 1 child and offer you discounted prices… Buy more Save more!

I really do like this product and recommend it for any home with kids or pets…  I actually plan to purchase 2 more for my older kids that can’t seem to keep all their food on their plates! Happy Dining!

{Book Review} The Bumpy, Grumpy Road

Posted by on Aug 16, 2012 in Kids, Reviews | 0 comments

I love a good book and so does my 2 boys. But, they are hard to come by now a days. So when I was sent The Bumpy, Grumpy Road by Elizabeth Pagel-Hogan, to read and review. I was thrilled. The boys could hardly wait until story time.

The story is about a little boy named Dylan with 2 brothers, one older and one younger, learning to deal with his emotions and feelings and siblings and how to deal with them. The big blue car got their attention right away. As we read along with Dylan on his journey, we experienced shouting, anger, and grumpiness. As we continued Dylan began to learn to say please, share, and to be friendly to be happy.

The story was very cute and appealed to my 3 year old and 5 year old. We discussed each emotion Dylan was going through and experiencing as the story moved along. Towards the end, they were very excited to see how it ended and if Dylan could “change” his ways and get back onto the smooth path.

I love the illustrations and are true to the story. They helped visualize the story and were relatable to my 2 blonde haired boys as well.

The Bumpy, Grumpy Road is written by Elizabeth Pagel-Hogan and illustrated by Mellisa Ott and available at www.threebirdsbooks.com and on Amazon.

Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy

Posted by on Jul 24, 2012 in Moms, Reviews | 0 comments

So, it seems that this is the summer for women. With Magic Mike opening in theaters and the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy dropping anchor into millions of homes, this has been one sexy summer season.

After sitting through Magic Mike, twice, don’t think my husband let me live that one down, I feel that the movie comes more from a man’s point of view of what we want to see. Don’t get me wrong, there was plenty of eye candy and nice things to look at, but that was about it. The story line was tired and typical. But, millions of women flocked to the theaters, myself included, to sit front row and ogle these shirtless men in the safe company of a movie theater, with our friends, with strangers, with a MPAA rating of R, thankfully not NC-17 or X. Just a little naughty but not over the top.

But what about these books? What is the allure of this “fantasy” we are expected to have and want? I had never even heard of Fifty Shades of Grey until about a month ago. It was introduced to me, oddly enough, by my mother in law, who has read it and gave rave reviews. She loaned me a copy and set it on my bedside table and there is sat for weeks. After seeing several postings about this book on Facebook from friends and family and all over the news that this was the best book and series they have ever read, I became a little more intrigue. Before picking it up to start reading, for some reason I needed to Google more information about this book. Apparently, I too need a full background check on something I am going to invest my time into. LOL, if you read the book, you will understand. :)

Being classified as “mommy porn”, “classy erotica”, and of the like, I was a bit apprehensive about starting this book. Did I really want to read about sex and porn? Why not? No harm done. It can’t be that bad if it’s a bestseller and I am able to go to Target and pick up all three books. So, I got settled into bed one night and started my journey through the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy. Without giving away too much of the book, here is just my thoughts and reactions to it.

Please note, there may be some spoilers….

The first book was a little slow moving. A little predictable even. I mean what else is going to happen when a shy, naïve, plain looking, but obviously beautiful young woman walks into the office of a gorgeous gazillionaire and pass witty banter? It was pretty obvious. I mean, surly there has got to be more to this story. Right? As I read through and followed along with Ana and Christian as they told their story as he tried to introduce her to his “lifestyle” I find myself getting emotionally attached to them and longing to know more about them. I really cannot place the reason why but there is something deep down that draws me in. Perhaps it’s the perception of “I wish I could meet a drop dead gorgeous billionaire with more money then he knows what to do with and he wants to spend it all on me, even though he wants to do some pretty kinky things to me in return.”  Isn’t that we all dream about late at night? Or maybe it’s that this is a new exotic territory that we in our “real” lives would never do or even fathom doing, but maybe in a fantasy life we could??? Isn’t that what books are supposed to do? Take us to a place we could never go to experience something new and wonderful and exciting in our minds…

As I finished with book one, Fifty Shades of Grey, I was hooked. I was drawn in and could not let go. I have fallen victim to the sensual and exotic lifestyle of Christian Grey. In my opinion, I felt the story line of the two characters was stronger than the massive amounts of sex and kinky talk and BDSM that went on in the book. The criteria for the “mommy porn” While pertinent to the story, it was not what drew me in and I think that if the story and characters were not so appealing and relatable, I would have had to put the book down.

To be continued…

Don’t you just LOVE that dress– the Pink Dance Party Tutu Dress by LamanBlu?!?

This dress is definitely a new favorite, as soon as I touched this dress I was in love.  I mean if you could feel the fabric you would know why.  The fabric is a modal/lycra knit and it is silky smooth.

Modal is a 100% biodegradable fabric that is made of beechwood and natural raw materials.  The material allows the skin to breathe and is so silky smooth it’s like it’s not even there, which makes it easy for kids to play while looking FABULOUS!

We tested the dress out for playability and I have to say… yes, one of our favorite little models played in the lovely dress and looked gorgeous doing so.

Holli Gibson the designer behind the lovely LamanBlu creations is a veteran in the design industry.

Gibson has designed for many high end retailers (for women), now she is bringing her talents to your child’s closet with an eco friendly line that embodies all the wonders of childhood.

And listen here Mamas this is very important:

Everything in the collection is extensively tested for quality and durability. The entire line is also machine wash and machine dry, ironing optional.

BAM! That’s right perfect for busy lives right?

So, the new favorite dress can be washed, dried, and worn time, and time again!

What I love is you can layer the looks. The pink dance party tutu dress would look great with leggings and a jean jacket or sweater, which takes your little girl’s new favorite dress into Fall :)

Along with being eco concious LamanBlu is chairitable actively involved in several charities both through direct volunteerism and financial support, including JDRF, Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption and Falling Whistles.

Mother’s day is this weekend!  I know time is flying, but just in time for Mother’s Day and the hot summer months traveling with children, I want to introduce you to Ju Ju Be.  Ju Ju Be creates stylish, sturdy and smart bags for your everyday needs.

If you are in the market or know someone in the market for a new diaper bag that makes sense and is cute—Here ya go!

The BFF bag keeps you organized and isn’t pastel green or pepto pink.  There are so many beautiful patterns to choose from.

 Beautiful Patterns to choose from:

I remember once upon a time I was a 2 bagger—yes I carried two bags to carry everything, I then began carrying a hobo bag and just put everything in there… thing about that is there was no rhyme to my reason.  The organization of the BFF is what totally did it for me.  I love that everything has its own spot—no bottles rolling around in your hobo bag.

I checked and yes this diaper bag can double as a computer bag SCORE! Officially my BFF you can hold snacks, my computer, and keep me organized #WIN.  Besides organization and durability I appreciate that Ju Ju Be gives you options the BFF can be worn as a backpack or a messenger bag.

If you’re not looking for a diaper bag, but need a good pool, or beach bag, or everything bag the Mighty Be is perfect!

The Mighty Be is not just a tote it’s a carry all! You can get all the kiddos’ beach towels and their extra set of clothes in this trendy bag.  The Mighty Be has pockets to keep you organized there is a spot for your phone, keys, drink, sunscreen, and of course the much needed snacks.  The Mighty Be would be great to take to the farmers market too… trust that you’ll see me with my Mighty Be at my local farmers market.

Ju Ju Be offers an array of bags, wallets, and gifts.  Dad isn’t left out at Ju Ju Be’s they have something for him too.
