Radio Show Interview: Kathleen Lockwood

Major League Bride: An Inside Look at Life Outside the Ballpark details the triumphs and tribulations of family life within Major League Baseball. It exposes the all pervasive pressure that accompanies the privilege of competing in America’s National Pastime and spotlights the inner strength of the major league wives who support each other over the long “home alone” season.

Major League Bride is a diary of growth, a journal of struggle, an account of bizarrely truthful stranger-than-fiction events involving eccentric teammates. It offers a glimpse inside family waiting rooms across the country. It is a manual of survival but most of all it is a story of love.

Major League Bride

  • Offers a rare feminine insight into the personal lives of athletes.
  • Expounds on the value of female friendships and the loneliness of moving and the difficulty of adults fitting into new groups.
  • Presents a behind the scenes historical perspective on the role of Marvin Miller and the empowerment of the Major League Baseball Player’s Association.
  • Focuses on the strength of committed relationships and the importance of trust in a world full of pressure and temptation.

Kathleen Lockwood’s Bio:
Days after graduating as an English Major from Regis College in Weston, MA, I walked down the aisle of Holy Cross Church in Springfield, MA to marry Skip Lockwood and stepped into the world of Major League Baseball. My honeymoon was spent on a road trip to Tiger Stadium in Detroit and Cleveland’s Municipal Stadium where I received a totally different education provided by the major league baseball community as a Major League Baseball Bride.

I spent the next twelve years in the company of some exceptional women on six different teams all across the country as my husband was periodically traded, sold, sent down, brought up and finally released.

A sixteen year breast cancer survivor, I am the mother of 5.  Skip and I will celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary this summer

You Can Be A BuffMother Too!

Michelle Berger (aka BuffMother) is truly a revolutionary in the field of women’s psychology and fitness.

Between 1999 and 2003 she had 4 children including twins by C-section.  Then, in 2004 she did what many considered to be impossible. She changed roughly 11,000 diapers, washed approximately 6200 bottles, slept 3 hours a night… and WON 5 FIGURES TITLES!  The ravages of caring for a family of 6, forced her to invent a faster, more powerful way to conquer life’s challenges and get into her best physical shape ever. She calls it Hormonal Timing and says it works by harnessing the power of a woman’s Natural Hormonal cycle to create dramatic changes.

Her story has inspired thousands of women and helped them believe that anything is possible if they live a “Hormonal Timing” Lifestyle.  This mentality has sparked a new trend among mothers who are eager to shed the “Soccer Mom” label.  According to Michelle, “Hormonal Timing goes way beyond fitness. You can be an awesome mother and still be HOT!” Michelle is on a mission to show every busy woman that Hormonal Timing is the shortest distance between who you are, and who you want to become!

Interview: Leslie Hunt & Ann Marie Boskovich from American Idol

Today I will be interviewing two past American Idol contestants with one of my clients, and guest co-host, Janie McQueen from SusuAndJohn.com! I am so excited!  Let me tell you a little about each one!

Ann Marie Boskovich – Top 36 of American Idol 8

A native of the Ventura, Calif., area, Ann Marie made her public performance debut at age 5, singing Over the Rainbow at her great-grandmother’s funeral. At age 13, she appeared on the soundtrack for Disney’s direct-to-video feature The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea, singing Part of Your World over the closing credits. She also sang God Bless America at the 2003 NBA All-Star Game.

Here is her latest work, “Everything Is Beautiful” from the “Letters To God” soundtrack. You can see more of Anne Marie by visiting her MySpace page.

Next up is Leslie Hunt! This American Idol Season Six Top 24 Contestant, has a new record out Your Hair Is On Fire (Ellenel Records) is a product of passion and tragedy, helped along by the talents of drummer Vinnie Colaiuta (Frank Zappa, Herbie Hancock) and bassist Vail Johnson (Stevie Nicks, Herbie Hancock). She auditioned for American Idol in Los Angeles. She says the disease Lupus has been the toughest obstacle in her life. Lesie Hunt is a musical phenomenon. Her impressive performance history (onstage with familiar names like Kenny Rogers, Rick Springfield and Ides of March/Survivor?s Jim Peterik) is equal to her keyboard talent and her prolific self-composed song catalog. Her style emanates pop, rock and soul, with influences including Bjork, Joni Mitchell, Feist, Fiona Apple, Jeff Buckley, Ben Folds Five and Stevie Wonder, without taking away from the sheer originality of her sound, not to mention the power and control of her distinctive voice. www.lesliehunt.net
